ABOUT NOAH CONNOLLY

I was born in Austin, Texas on May 5th, 2001. I am currently a Junior in High School. I have a passion for 3D modeling and animation, and, in my opinion, my best works that year were done in Maya, when I created an animated scene, and a realistic 3D model in Maya. In my middle school graphic design classes, in 7th and 8th I worked a lot with Gimp, and later transitioned to Blender, where I learned beginner 3D modeling, which I immediately fell in love with. These skills carried on into High School, where I learned Photoshop and Illustrator, and even got certified in Illustrator. I also learned a lot of 2D animation in Adobe flash/animate. My goals in 3D design and animation are to learn how to animate 3D characters, such as actions, lip sync, etc. I want to learn these techniques so that one day, hopefully soon, I can learn to develop a 3D video game of my own, as I plan to start my own software company when I grow up.

Animation, to me, is a method of expressing oneself, just as any other art form. However, I believe animation is the greatest art form, because nearly all other forms of art can be expressed alongside animation. And when it comes to video games, I believe them to be, like movies, a way to tell a story just as books do, requiring a variety of skills to come together for a successful product.

My goals are to learn intermediate to advanced 3D modeling and animation in Mudbox, Maya, or in other 3D programs. I want to learn to animate 3D characters and creatures, and learn how to work with particles in 3D programs to add to my animations. My end goal is to eventually learn animation in the context of game design, and how to work with 3D in game engines such as Unity, Unreal, or Cryengine.
